So the idea of launching now is that we've now got a good sort of final development period, if you like, for the next three to four months.

Hello, Matthew Grant here. Welcome back or welcome this your first time to the InSect London podcast.

Now, you may have heard the news recently about Key, the collaboration between Brit and Google Cloud, which broke last week.

Now, one of the great things about spending so much time with people who are pushing the boundaries of what's happening in innovation using data, analytics and technology,

whether directly involved in insurance or on the boundaries of insurance, is being able to

quickly get to the people behind the story when the news breaks.

So I'm delighted to bring you this week an interview with two of the key people involved

in the buildup and will be running key when it goes live.

Now this is a result of collaboration between Brit Insurance, Google Cloud and University College London.

So I'm speaking to Mark Allen, who is the CFO of Brit and James Birch, who is head of innovation.

Now while of course this innovation is aimed at the Lloyds marketplace,

with its somewhat unique syndicated market for complex risks placed through brokers. There is a lot to learn here for

anyone thinking about how to truly make a difference with innovation and tackle some of the

industry's hardest problem. In particular, why are the overheads so high for insurance coming

into London? As usual, we cover a lot in the 30 minutes and as you've come

to expect, if you're a regular follower of what we do at Instech London, I poke a bit behind

the headlines to see what the lessons really are for all of us. So Mark James, congratulations on this new initiative.
