It's your boy, John of the Macri with you for another episode of the Knicks Film School podcast.

Coming at you after a somewhat tumultuous opening week of training game,

but at least if you're on the old Twitter.com app.

So, of course, what better way to end a tumultuous week with a man who has covered many, many, many tumultuous weeks for this team?

And that is the one and only Mark Berman. So for anybody who doesn't know,

Mark Berman announced his retirement from the New York Post after he has been writing for them

covering the New York Knicks for 23 years. Not just the Knicks. Also covering tennis.

I should have, I wish we had more time with the interview. I would

have asked some tennis questions, but alas, we had kind of a defined window. Anyway, look, I know

some of you listening out there have some strong opinions about Mark. I certainly referenced

some of the feelings that many fans have towards him in

this interview. I hope you will listen for that. But I just want to say, you know, before you

listen to Mark, and look, what you are in your professional world is different from what you are in your personal life.

And I think, you know, everybody who is a Knicks fan and has read Mark over the years has probably had a quam or two with some of the story here or there for whatever reason.

On a personal level, though, one of the nice people I've ever met and just someone

that is, it's going to be very different without him covering the team. And it's rare that you

get a guy like this who becomes an institution. And that's what he was.
