And you brought some new music that you would like to share with a class today.

What did you bring for us?

First off, I've got some great local sounds.

And as I was listening to this record, I was like, oh, it's such a great record. I kept trying to put it in a

category of like, oh, my favorite metal record of the year, oh, or my favorite local record of the year,

or even my favorite indigenous record of the year. And then by the end of the year, when I was

putting together my list, I was like, this is my record of 2025. And the group is called Torian,

and they put out a great record in 2025 called Blood Quantum Blues,

and I picked a song off of it called Chemical Battle.

Records! Tell me about Chemical Bath.

Chemical Bath is a song that the lead singer Vern wrote about Carmelita Torres.

And she is known for starting the 1917 bath riots.

And this happened on the Mexican-U.S. border between El Paso and Juarez, Mexico.
