Hello pod, I'm Chris Hewitt and welcome to this Empire podcast interview special.

If you're listening to this, that means you probably know who Kevin Smith is, and therefore

you don't need me banging on about his career.

But how he started out as a side-guised, capturing writer-directors sometimes actor with

the likes of clerks, or clerks, if you're in the UK, mall rats chasing Amy, dogma, and

Jay and silent bob strike back, before enduring some critical and commercial disappointments.

You don't need me to tell you how his innate ability as a verbal storyteller, seriously

I said to him in the interview, but if the guy wanted to be, he could be one of the best

stand-up comedians in the world, led to his second career as the head of an ever-growing

podcast empire, and how, early last year, he suffered a massive heart attack that very

nearly took him off the board.

Thankfully though, it didn't, and in fact it lit something of a fire under his ass.

He's recently wrapped filming on Jay and silent bob reboot, his return to the fewest

universe, he's turned vegan, and is looking healthier than he's ever been, and he's still

potting it up a storm, which is why he was in London recently for a live Hollywood

Babylon show at the O2 with Ralph Garmin.

When I heard Kevin was coming to town, I dropped him in line and asked him if he'd be

up for coming into our studio, and popping his empire podcast cherry, he said yes, and

so what you're about to hear is the joyous result has been Travis and I sat down with

Kevin to talk about, well, all sorts.

Or more accurately, be talked at about all sorts, because if you're here, then you'll
