All right, keys to a win over the Chicago Bears tonight at Northwest Field, sellout crowd,

815 kick, alt-black jerseys for a repeat of last year's look and feel against Chicago.

By the way, I like the alt-black jerseys. Always have. I can't wait for our championship jerseys to appear.

That first game of that appearance will be the Seattle game on Sunday Night Football. I think it is.

But I don't mind the alt-blacks. All right. Let me just tell you real quickly why I like this matchup and why I am concerned about this matchup.

There are obvious things to like about this matchup against the Bears. Number one, they are 31st in the league in rush defense.

Washington's number one in rush offense. The Bears are dead last in yards per carry aloud. They allow, this isn't

stuttering here, although I just did. 6.2 yards per carry against them. 6.2 yards per carry. That's

what teams average against them. Washington, the number one rush offense

in yards per and in yards per carry. So this would seem like a matchup that from that

standpoint gives Washington a huge advantage. I will just warn you that the bears have only played four games,

and two of them were against really good offensive football teams and teams that can run the

football. Dallas and Detroit, and Detroit absolutely torch them. So that can skew things, as we know,

in a small sample size. Ashton Gentie also had his first big day. Then offensively,

while Chicago so far through four games can't stop the run, they can't run the ball either. They're

26th in the league in yards per carry. They're 28th in Rush EPA, expected points added. Okay, 28th. So when you can't run the ball and you can't

stop the run, and you're playing a team who is the best in the league at running the ball and is vastly

improved in rising in terms of their ability to stop the run, that

just seems like, hello, mismatch, mismatch in the trenches, running the ball, stopping the

run, well, what could go wrong? So I'll also add to the things about this matchup that make me like it is that Caleb Williams,

and I went back and watched the last two games, the cowboy game for them and the Raider game.

There are some good things, but he's still a work in progress.
