We're hoping you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend that you celebrated Independence

Day with your family and celebrated all of the great values that make America great

today.

I know there's a lot of negativity right now, a lot of protesting, a lot of rioting, a lot

of silliness going on in our country, but even with all of that, we are still the greatest

country that the universe has ever created.

And we had so much to celebrate this week and I know I did with my family and I hope

you had a chance as well.

We're going to dedicate this whole podcast to the legacy of Frederick Douglass, the great

abolitionists, the great orator, the first African American vice presidential candidate

in American history, an advisor to Abraham Lincoln who gave perhaps the single most important

advice that Abraham Lincoln got in about the emancipation proclamation.

Don't do it through Congress, do it by executive order.

That changed the course of history and ways that few in America today appreciate.

And the reason I picked the subject today is because over this great Fourth of July weekend

on the 256th anniversary of that great advice that Frederick Douglass gave to Abraham Lincoln.

We saw these horrible rioters, these hooligans tear down a statue of Frederick Douglass.

How insane that is.

Rioters, protesters claiming to be for racial justice, tearing down one of the most important

voices for racial justice in American history.
