Hey guys, welcome to episode 7 of the JV club. Just a couple of things I wanted to say up top.

First, I need to apologize for the sound issues in the first few minutes of this recording.

I know nobody wants to start

listening to a podcast and be forewarned of sound issues. But please don't turn

it off. It's not that bad. I've actually been sitting on this episode for

that this particular reason but at the end of the day I'm just

too in love with my guest Carrie Kinney Silver to keep her wonderfulness to myself any longer

so hang in there. Actually, side note, this was actually the very, very

first episode that I ever recorded. And my friend and yours, Matt and Myra, had come over to

record it and we didn't realize that Carrie's mic wasn't

working until several minutes in. So if you can withstand a little bit of my voice

being just a little louder, she sounds really far away for just a bit. My voice obviously louder equals more grading, even more than

usual. If you can withstand that, I promise it does get better pretty quickly on.

We just end up sharing a mic. And then all of this reminded me

that I wanted to not only thank Matt Myra for recording that first episode but

also to thank Paul Gilmartin for recording a couple of them there at the beginning as well before he

frankly got sick of me and he just helped me buy all my gear so that I could do it all

myself which is what I do now. I also wanted to let you know that there's a cake like song at the end of the podcast that's Carrie's band so I hope you enjoy that and here comes the pesky plug.
