Ephesians chapter 5 verses 3 through 5,

but sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness

must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Let there be no filthiness, nor foolish talk,

nor crude joking, which are out of place,

but instead let there be thanksgiving.

For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is

covetous, that is, an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

That's strong language.

Just at the very end there has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

All these things that were listed before that.

So that just shouts to us, run from all these things before this.

They all lead to destruction and death. They're all harmful

and hurtful. Sexual immorality. What the Bible describes is any and all sexual activity

outside of the covenant relationship between a husband and a wife in marriage, an impurity and covetousness that's described later

is idolatry, like wanting and desiring things in a way that is not glorifying to God,

wanting things you don't have, wanting things you don't have in a way that leads to lack of contentment in God,

as if those things could satisfy our soul.

If we had that, that's idolatry, the Bible says.

And then filthiness and foolish talk and crude joking.

Like let there be none of them, Ephesians 5.4 says.
