So now let's get into verses 37 to 40.

We've looked at things from the man's side and human responsibility to see what there is to see and respond the way we should respond,

and there's failure.

There's always failure if you only have man.

There's always failure if you only have offer.

Now, I see in these verses 37 to 40 five massive assertions concerning God's sovereign work in your salvation.

So I'm going to state the assertion and then point to the verse.

Okay?

Assertion number one, God gives his own or his chosen ones, whatever word you want to use,

God gives his own to Jesus.

Verse 37, all that the Father gives me will come to me.

Verse 39, this is the will of him who sent me that I should lose nothing of all He has given to me.

God gives a people to Jesus.

We're going to see this in verse 44.
