and this is Love Murder. murder. Okay, so Andy, I have a ripper of a story for you today. It is, it is the ripering. It kind of goes from like the mid-20s all the way through to 1941 in colonial Kenya and it is a nutsball story

Okay, I don't know how to prepare myself for nutballs, but you know, let's see.

Just hang on to your titties because it's going to be a ride.

All right, here we go.

So I'm going to set the scene to begin with. By early 1941, the British Empire that has dominated the global stage

for the last two centuries is on its last breath. London is getting decimated by the

Blitz. America isn't in the war yet and things are looking pretty darn grim.

Meanwhile in this far-flung corner of East Africa, a weird assembly of nobility, frontiersy entrepreneurs,

aristocratic outcasts with some combination of money and title, often one or the other, to be honest,

are partying and carrying on as though the outside world

doesn't exist.

The tale I'm about to tell you is backdropped

by an escapist fantasy,

wealthy white people clinging to a colonial empire

that is in truth already dead.

They just don't know it yet.

And that's not the only thing dead.
