I don't really see our show as a black show.

You know, I think I see it as a comedy, a family comedy that is about a black family.

That's absolutely about a black family.

I think the narrowing of those types of terms sort of alienates the viewer a little bit.

Now the creator of his own show, ABC's Blackish, Barris says he's moved beyond
