the portal efforts of Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats where news could be dropping literally as we're

doing this show and one that we've been waiting on for a long time.

Unfortunately, trending in the wrong direction very, very quickly with Donnie Freeman and

the Syracuse transfer who visited Kentucky last week has been zeroed in as the go-to target at the four spot for Mark Pope in the Kentucky Wildcats.

Multiple times throughout his recruitment, Jacob, it felt like Kentucky was not only the heavy

favorite, but there was like a silent commitment. Like it was done and we're waiting for the

announcement. And then as time drags on, we're waiting for the public announcement.

It doesn't come.

And then here we are sitting on Monday afternoon in St. John sitting in the driver's seat for Donnie Freeman.

So let's just kind of run through the timeline of events, Jacob.

How did we get to this point?

And is that your

current expectation of where things will land for the potential first rounder? That is Donnie

Freeman of Syracuse. Yeah, I'll start by saying I do think that St. John's is in the driver's

seat for Donnie Freeman. And you're taking it back, it feels like Kentucky handled it. They set it up perfectly

where you have Donnie Freeman and Sebastian Ransick. You have Donnie, your number one target

visiting first. By all accounts, Kentucky put themselves in a very good spot with that visit,

maybe even getting a verbal commitment, but not getting them signed.

And you could leverage those two guys off of each other saying, hey, we don't need to take you, Donnie, because we have Sebastian on campus.
