Well, we just got some big news that the producer of the Metroid Prime series, Kenska, Tanabe,

may be leaving Nintendo, retiring?

Yeah.

Definitely retiring from the series, he said.

Mr. Tanabe is somebody we knew pretty well when we worked there, got to interact with him a number of times,

and this is not entirely unexpected because he's part of

this whole wave of a generation of Nintendo developers who are getting close to retirement age.

But there is just something about the reality of it setting in of like, oh, this is starting to

happen. Yeah. Yeah. This is something that we actually talked about months ago.

We did a whole podcast episode that we'll link in the description of this video about

the sort of the end of this era, the golden age of Nintendo developers.

What does that mean for Nintendo's future?

But yes, this is sort of our first example of that happening in reality.

It is. So, yeah, let's go through what's going on, and then we can talk about what Mr. Tanabe is

responsible for, and what might the succession plan be at Nintendo.

So all of this is coming out of an interview with Nintendo Dream, which is a Japanese publication.

It came out recently and people are starting to translate it.

The frustrating thing with all of these is there is no official English translation.

So we are relying on the work that others have done.

But it's a pretty long interview that touches on a lot of details on
