This station is now the ultimate power in the universe. I suggest we use it. Now it's time for Rebel Force radio. We would be honored if you would join us.

How long was that Hasbro Pulse fan-frightening thing? It was like four hours long and breaking news. There's an indoor Han action figure coming out with trench coat.

1:38.0

I think that's only been released three or four times in the last two or three years. I know that it's great for people that I'm new to the hobby. I'm really into Star Wars.

1:50.0

I hear that the aftermarket prices on Star Wars merchandise is through the roof right now. Vintage stuff, some of the early postmodern stuff.

2:00.0

Even the modern vintage collection or vintage collection are going crazy. But man, throw us a bone once in a while. Something that we don't have. It's not that hard. It's a pretty small list.

2:14.0

I know we'll get the emails. Don't talk about the toys. I got to bring it up. It's top of mind. We waited through four hours. I don't know if anybody else wants. It was interesting. There were other brands.

2:31.0

There were other brands that seemed to be fairing much better in terms of the variety of product and stuff released. But Star Wars once again, I think on the short end of that stick.

2:47.0

There it is. There's my soapbox moment for this week's show. We're talking about Rebel Force radio this week for April 16th, 2021. Great to be with you. Glad you could be with us. Got a great show for a special guest in the studio. But before we get to that, of course, introductions in order for those that are new to the program.

3:06.0

And we know based on the analytics that there are many growing by leaps and bounds each and every week. My name is Jason and with me as always my good friend and yours from Chicago Jimmy Mac. Hey Jason, hey Star Wars fans. Wow, Swank Salt the wounds to open up the show.

3:23.0

Yeah, it hasn't gotten past me the fact that collectors of the three and three quarter inch line are being phased out because we're too old and irrelevant. I get it. I get it. What's being phased out you are being phased out or the toys are being phased out or both.

3:41.0

They're telling us our money isn't worth because what they did was they competed against themselves by releasing the six inch action figure line in competition with its three and three quarter inch action figure line. Obviously they're going to compare the two and look at the numbers and it almost seems orchestrated to get away from the old days of small 10 to $12 action figures and move into the days of slightly larger 20 to $25.

4:10.0

So that makes more sense for their body. Do you ever do you ever catch yourself and I mean just you but I do you ever catch yourself quoting the price of a three and three quarter inch action figure and saying 10 to $12.

4:22.0

Oh my god, I remember when these were 97 cents. I remember they were a dollar 99. Yeah, I always figured by the time it reached the $10 mark, we would be getting close to complete annihilation.

4:40.0

So it's come true. Everything came true. I worried about Hasbro rejuvenating the Star Wars line back in the mid 90s with large scale action figures instead the traditional three and three quarter inch that we've grown to no one love for four decades.

4:57.0

But no, they stayed true to the integrity and the history of Star Wars and stuck with that three and three quarter inch because you know those he man's in the hex man's they were all very popular back.

5:09.0

Yeah, I remember you saying something about catching a profile of iron Mike Tyson showing off his marvel action because X man action figure collection and I think that was when you began to have this premonition that that would be the death of Star Wars action figures if they never came to that.

5:28.0

Yeah, yeah, he's doing like a profile on Mike Tyson, it was on 2020 and I think you could find this somewhere online where he shows off his X man action figures and he walks into the room with Barbara Walters or whatever and Barbara is like what is this all about?

5:45.0

All those in my X man's and so did he she goes well, what do you do with them? He's like well, you know, they look at them and they have bad rules and he starts smashing them together and stuff. And I'm like, this is where we're having this is where we're having iron Mike was a loose collector apparently.
