And today I will hopefully save your surfing because my worry is that you have been surfing small waves or maybe even the white

water for so long, that you have lost your lust for the sport. Well, joining me today on Kennedy

Saves the World is the star of 100 Foot Wave. It's a show on HBO right now. It's a six-part

series about the quests for the biggest wave ever surfed. And the guy at the

center of that quest is Garrett McNamara. He is a big wave surfer and he is incredibly legendary.

And he has nards of steel. Garrett, welcome to Kennedy Saves the World. How are you doing, Kennedy? Thank you so much for having me. Yeah, Garrett, this is great. So, you know, as a surfer, as someone who really enjoys surfing, I've been surfing for a long time. But if you saw me in the water, a lot of people go, oh, is this your first day? Which is really sad. however you know obviously when you surf it takes a lot of people go, oh, is this your first day? Which is really sad.

However, you know, obviously when you surf, it takes a lot of work to get to different levels.

And, you know, from going from kind of paddling in the whitewater and catching white water to going out in bigger waves and, you know, really figuring out how to read the ocean and how waves are breaking and where to paddle and what kind of board to use and all that stuff.

So how do you go from that to seeking out 100 foot waves?
