Because a lot of people are intrigued at the idea of some of these new races that are popping up across the country that are very different from traditional marathons, traditional Iron Man or various triathlon distances.

They want to dip their toe on the water, but they're paralyzed by fear. And that's what holds people back from trying something new and exciting. As you know, I've been doing triathlon for 26 years now. I really enjoy the half-iron man distance because you have to train for it, but it doesn't eclipse everything else

in your life. It's manageable. But for a lot of people, a triathlon is very predictable. You know

exactly what's going to happen. You know the distances. You can figure out the elevation. But for the

most part, you're aiming for a specific time and you sort of tailor all of your training to that.
