kids are going back to school and there's a whole bunch of really big issues facing school districts

0:05.4

across Central Indiana, 93 WIBC. It is the Kendall and Casey show and Rob Casey's out today,

0:11.9

Ethan Hatcher, in for Casey. And when we talk public education, when we talk education period,

0:16.8

let's go to the one man. He is our expert source here on the drive hubler dot com hotline.

Tony Kennett joins us now. How are you, my friend?

0:25.4

Always stellar. All right. So before we get into these kind of specific big issues facing

0:30.7

very school districts across Central Indiana, I struggle with this, it's sort of a conundrum

0:37.2

because on one hand, the Republican Party in Indiana says, well, public schools are so out of

0:41.7

control. We've got to throw more money than ever before at the voucher system, the private

1:23.6

things that don't help kids read. I don't know if you knew this, but the material your football

1:27.5

field is made out of has no impact on literacy. And it's just one of those things that it sounds

1:33.3

like common sense, but yet there are public schools in Indiana that struggle with spending their

1:38.4

money correctly. They may have equity officers who don't help kids read, but yet they make six

1:44.8

figure salaries and all kinds of nonsense like that. So the long and short of Indiana is

1:52.5

we have a Republican party that spends money like old people date. And the answer to that is

...
