| 0:36.8 | I'm charo. Oh boy. Okay, so let's talk about Apple and they're accelerating their plan to move iPhone production out of China. |
| 0:50.4 | This is in the wake of violent worker protests over COVID-19 regulations. It's happening at the world's largest iPhone factory and this is a report according to the Wall Street Journal. |
| 1:01.8 | So the plant is dubbed iPhone city. They made headlines recently. Of course you saw it. The workers were revolt were revolting and Apple is reportedly looking to shift its production towards other nations in Asia like India and also Vietnam. |
| 1:20.0 | So Apple is the largest most powerful company in the world in the world. Apple has 10 times the market cap of Disney. But China becoming toxic and Apple should distance itself. |
| 1:42.8 | I don't know why Apple would have a problem with their factory becoming Thunderdome over in China. No, I think it's a good move. And I think for a lot of manufacturers, you're going to see this more and more. |
| 1:54.2 | Some of this is because China still has pretty heavy duty lockdowns over there. And the supply chain issues here are directly related to their lack of production there. |
| 2:03.8 | And I think just to insulate themselves, and I know that there's been an initiative from the Biden administration to encourage more people to produce here in North America, I think that is probably just a good best practice that if, especially if you're the size of Apple, you can have a production facility in China. |
| 2:20.8 | You probably should have one in India or Indonesia or somewhere else or maybe even here in North America. And that is just as an insurance policy because you don't want all of your stuff tied up in a factory like this where suddenly there is no production coming out. And even if they were producing, it's if it's going to get here, that is just a bad policy. |
| 2:42.8 | I think we're sharing a brain on this. So I said China is toxic. You know, they changed the law so that Xi Jinping could have his third term, even though he was supposed to be done after two. |
| 2:54.8 | You might recall him hauling the former prime minister out of a meeting publicly front of everybody. It's almost like he's just putting in a better suit. |
| 3:04.8 | Yeah, I was the most surprising thing you said there was that they had a policy on two terms. I thought if you were in a socialist society that basically you go as long as you want. |
| 3:16.8 | Yes, exactly. You are chairman for life until one day you air quotes get sick. Yeah. Well, since COVID China has become less friendly to do business with. And to your point, Brad, they're not reliable because they keep shutting their country down. |
| 3:33.8 | And you know, there's still the possibility that they might invade Taiwan. So Apple should leave. But, but I doubt it is solely based on a human rights violation decision only. |
| 3:52.8 | I mean, they're not going to make a decision like this just for one reason. No, it's going to have multiple. No, five bucks an hour is the reason. |
| 4:01.8 | Apple's market cap is 2.3 trillion dollars. So when I mentioned they're the biggest most powerful company in the world, that's what 2.3 trillion dollars will do for you. |
| 4:18.8 | So they could buy Elon Musk and Twitter. |
| 4:22.8 | I don't I don't know about hopefully Elon won't won't go down that road. But the CEO of Apple Tim Cook was recently asked a lot of questions by a reporter. |
| 4:34.8 | And he didn't want to answer a single one of them. |
