This was a crackdown by the IMPD.

They announced that they had arrested 116 people in a major multi-agency apprehension effort.

They described it as Indianapolis' largest ever operation of its kind.

They focused on suspects with violent felony warrants, not those with minor offenses,

like public intox or suspended licenses. And one of the things that they announced was that

six arrests were for murder, were made during this operation. And there were a lot of different

agencies involved.

IMPD chief, Chris Bailey.

He said that it was a collaborative effort.

City worked together with our federal partners.

We can't do this alone.

Everyone knows our staffing situation.

But when you take into expertise of the war with the

the US Marshals or the Marion County Sheriff's office who every single day do

this work of which is insurmountable work in our county there's 30,000 plus

warrants in our county there's plenty of work for everybody to do but when we
