Let's go to one of the best in the business, joining us now in the WIBC hotline from the Indiana Capitol Chronicle, the great Nikki Kelly. Nikki Kelly, hello. Hello, how are you? I'm great. All right. So a pretty wild and adventurous first couple of days.

What has kind of been the thing that people have been talking about at the Indiana General Assembly

at the Indiana State House after two days of session?

Well, I mean, I think this is how the bany of most sessions are.

All these bills drop, you know, and most of them don't have a shot in, you know, heck, but people

want to talk about them. So a lot of them are people finding, you know, some of the bills that

have less of a chance but are very talkative. And then there are some bills who definitely have a

chance, and they're causing controversy, too.

So let's start with the Speaker's Plan to create this commission to pursue, what is it, 33 counties in Illinois.

I mean, obviously this must be, you're talking about things that do and don't have a chance.

This is the Speaker's bill, so it must have a chance, right?

Yeah, I mean, it definitely has a chance.

To say that that one was a bit shocking, I think is fair.

And look, I don't have any say on the succession of counties from Illinois.

I've never actually even given it a tiny bit of thought. But I do know that there are some very big issues that lawmakers have to deal with. And so I hope they don't get distracted on something like that.

Did you guys get a chance to ask him what? I mean, what is he thinking? I mean, what in his world, how does this even play out where this becomes a thing?

Yeah, I mean, I was not there for the event, but I think he just said that a lot of people

are talking about it, so he wanted to open a dialogue.
