So Donald Trump is officially the Republican Party's nominee for president.

He had his first major speech last night since that failed assassination attempt.

He described in detail the moment the shooter opened fire on him in Pennsylvania.

He explained why he raised his fist in the air when he was shot in the ear. He said that he wanted his supporters to know that he was okay when he mouthed fight, fight, fight. His speech was softer and definitely slower and he called for an end to political division.

He urged Americans to unite.

He was directly appealing to people who didn't support him in the past.

He did lay out his plans if he was reelected or at least what he wanted to accomplish.

And that was that he wanted to close the border, stop the invasion at the border.

He wanted to bring down inflation and he wanted

to make the nation less energy dependent.

And just in a shade under a decade.
