Welcome to the Treatment, the Home Edition. I'm Elvis Mitchell. My guest has been acting probably his entire life, but we really got to know him.

As he's well known as now the longest live guest member of Saturday Night Live.

He's also starring in his show. Let me sure I got it right.

Keenan, I think it's called. My guest is the Emmy winner, Keenan Thompson. It's my pleasure of you.

Thanks so much for doing this, man. Thank you. It's my pleasure of you. Thanks so much for doing this,

man. Thank you. It's my pleasure to be here and join you, my brother. I've been looking forward

to a good chat for a while now. When you introduce yourself to me, I think I mentioned to you that

I've always loved so much about you is like there's this sense of joy in all these, so often

in these characters that you play.

And it's interesting watching you on the show on Keenan out on the sitcom because I really get a chance to see you whack because that joy or that sort of real spirit is reserved for when your character who's a talk show host is doing the show, then you're a different guy when he's off camera.

That's exactly right. It's been very interesting to be able to do both now, you know,

at this point. Like, my training in Nickelodeon was pretty much perfect for exactly what's going on in my life and career right now. The joy that is usually exuding through a lot of my characters is just me trying to have

a good time in a very stressful situation and I would rather have fun with it than be stressed

about it.

So I lean into the silly, I lean into the fun, the faces, the joy, the happiness of it all.

And that way I don't get overwhelmed by the fact that there's so many viewers.

There's such a history there, such a legacy there.

And then stepping into the sitcom world, it's like, yeah, now I get to do that through character work as

well and kind of showcase those, you know, good Thespian chops. And it's a nice opportunity

to get into the levels of it all as opposed to like when you're doing sketch comedy. You're

really just trying to hit from moment one, basically.
