I was thinking about the Powerball and the lottos in general.

You really only get about a quarter of the money that's advertised as a jackpot

because if you take the cash, you get less, you get like 48% of it.

And then in New York, even worse. And then in New York, city, state, and the feds, I think you get about 52% of the balance. Right. So it's real, listen, we'll all take $250 million, but it's deceptive. Right. And it's obscene. It's like just, you know what, in Spain, when you win the, I forget with their giant, the billion dollar lotteries called, they do it every year at Christmas or New Year or whatever. It's like a billion dollars or something. And you win the money and that's that. There's nothing taken out. You get the full amount.

It's not taxed. You get the money, period. California even has a better deal in that they don't take out state tax. Of course, federal taxes take it, but they don't take out state tax. It's like, come on, it's a lottery. It's like if you win a court case, let the person win the award. so and i I believe, and I don't know for sure, but I believe if you win a settlement that that is not taxed. In this case, why, you know, it's better, right, it's better incentive. Let the person win it and whatnot. Donate the extra money themselves. Oh, you know, you're really paying for, it's the dollar in the the dream you go to bed you think about the house

you're going to buy you know and things like that and it has its own entertainment value but and

by the way they raised mega millions yeah five dollars five dollars and nobody's buy i mean it's

it's up there but nobody is buying it because it's a little bit

too much for the overnight dream you know phil i used to well before you go i used to buy all

my lottery tickets i it to the point that it was ridiculous i admit it was getting quasi

addictive but i used to buy this whole slew on using um jack pocket i used to buy this whole slew

tickets every day and when they went to

five dollars the promise well or the assumption was the way it was sold you have better chance a

better chance to win something they're going to be more winners that's the way it was marketed

guess what since it's five dollars i've won nothing i i've given up on it i have won nothing

so so much for more chances to win

phil you're good man thank you so that story what's that can i tell you a quick sad story

years ago when lotto this is 40 years plus lotto was once a week for one dollar i played my

favorite hockey player numbers week after week for that first year.
