Parker Space is a New Jersey State Center with a really cool name, by the way,

representing the northern part of the state near the New York State line.

More importantly, he has been a volunteer firefighter for many years,

even spent time as the chief of the Wantage New Jersey Fire Department.

He joins us this morning to talk about what could be the worst wildfire in New Jersey history.

No, thank you for having me on.

Well, you bet.

What do we know first off about the fire thus far?

Well, obviously, I got to, you know, congratulate once again the majority of our volunteer firemen that were down there fighting that fire.

And with, you know, New Jersey Forest Fire Service, they do a tremendous job.

And I think with the cards that they had to deal with they

they've done extremely well containing it to what they can so but people don't give them i just

want to jump in and agree people do not give volunteer firefighters enough credit i mean these are

people who work other jobs and they take their time away from their families and risk their

lives to help out everybody else for not for no money so that's a special person

now that that's i get 36 years on the one inch fire department my my son is currently the fire

chief now for one it thank you for your service there thank you but you know i mean a lot of it
