Yo, how is it going everybody? Welcome back, or maybe it's your first time. If that's the case, welcome to Trail Tales. My name is Kyle O'Grady. I'm a through hiker. I am a backpacker. I am a huge

hiking nerd. And every single week on this podcast, I chat with other through hikers and backpackers

and hiking nerds about their experiences on the trail. And this episode has been a long time

coming. Kelly Hayes is on the show. She has hiked the Appalachian Trail. I met her last

year on the PCT, although she wasn't able to complete the whole thing. And we talk about that in

this episode. She's also hiked the Florida Trail and the Pinhote, a bunch of other stuff, I'm sure.

She's so awesome. Like I said, yeah, I mean, we got to meet each other a little bit on

the PCT, and we've talked quite a bit over the years, and I have so much respect for her. She's a

badass hiker, and she's just a great person, and so I'm so excited that we finally got to do

an episode of Trail. She was on trail for, like last number of months and so every time I would reach

out it was like, oh, let's put it off to now because I'm going to be on trail and just, I don't know,

we finally made it happen though and I'm so excited about it. We're going to get into it in just a

second, but first, it's been a long time. I feel like it's probably only been a few episodes, but I can't remember the last time I asked you to do something for me.
