It is Friday, August 8th, and we are just getting word today that Brandon Blackstock,

the 48-year-old ex-husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, has passed away after a private

three-year battle with cancer.

And with that, we welcome you to this episode of Amy and

TJ. I sit here alongside my partner, Amy Robach now. And Robs, I think the first part of this

story and the reason we are jumping on here to have a conversation, not just entirely covering

the story, but there is a very personal, very intimate

and sometimes maybe even uncomfortable thing that a lot of couples do deal with and the grief

and the mourning of someone you are no longer in a relationship with. And these two certainly were

contentious publicly with their divorce. Not going to get into necessarily of that and what this is about, but it made us stop and think, wow, what she may be feeling and going through as a person, even though she's having to do a lot of this publicly.

Right.

I mean, this is complicated and it's tragic.
