Keir Starmer is back from holiday – but his government is already in a tailspin. His big reshuffle was supposed to show strength, yet his most prominent appointment, Darren Jones, is remembered for claiming on national TV that "the majority of the people in these boats are children, babies and women."
The audience laughed at his delusion – and delusion is fast becoming the hallmark of Starmer's government. They don't seem to understand why Reform UK now leads massively in the polls.
How can the leader of a country put the rights of illegal migrants above the needs of the British people who pay their wages?
Today, Yvette Cooper only tinkers at the edges, and it's no surprise that 78% of the public say Labour is failing to handle the crisis. Promises to "reform Article 8" are meaningless and will do nothing to stop growing unrest.
Many people are already calling this government traitors. Starmer may have won the Epping court case – but he's losing the country.
We need him out.
