Summary

When we say, "The gospel changes everything," we mean everything! Even the way we think about makeup. Whether you're a mom who loves it or hates it, wears it or doesn't, exploring our thoughts and feelings about makeup opens a window into our beliefs about beauty and identity. Join Emily and Laura in this episode for some fun conversation and gospel application as they consider how we can rightly enjoy beauty and be good stewards of our bodies, while ultimately finding our identity in Christ.

We're grateful to our generous donors for making this week's show possible. Join them here, and help us bring gospel hope to moms everywhere.

Motherhood is hard. One second, we think we're doing a good enough job, and the next,

0:18.5

we feel like the worst mom on the planet. Which is why we need the refreshing truth of the

0:23.5

gospel to be repeated over and over, giving us hope in the everyday moments.

So mama, whether you're sipping coal coffee or doing a sink full of dishes,

Hey friends, Laura here again, and I know I popped in last week before the show,

0:51.9

but I wanted to do so again today just in case you're new here or you've missed some of our

0:55.6

other messages. First off, I hope that all of you guys are continuing to find great ways to keep

1:00.4

busy with the kiddos at home. I personally feel like our family is finally starting to hit our

1:04.6

stride. I'm finding Juppie Jack contests in the basement are a very helpful way to burn off some

1:09.1

of that energy from the kiddos. But the reason I wanted to come in is that like I talked about last

1:14.1

week at risenmotherhood, we typically record and edit our podcast months in advance. So today's

1:20.4

show we're talking about makeup and I know it can kind of feel like a small trivial thing,

1:24.7

but it was recorded a long time ago, long before we knew about coronavirus and its effects.

1:29.5

We get that this doesn't necessarily fit the mood of the moment right now,

1:33.6

but we continue to trust that God knew about the events of today even back when we were recording

1:38.1

today's show and we know He'll use all things for His glory. So before I go today, I just want to

1:44.4

remind you in these days of self-quarantining, remember that the gospel is not quarantined. The

1:50.0

gospel knows no such boundaries. This is a perfect time to spread the good news of Jesus far and wide.
