Well, welcome to the mortification of Spin.

It's a great pleasure to have as our guest today an old friend, Professor Scott Manich.

Scott is the professor of church history and the history of Christian thought at Trinity

Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, which is just outside Chicago,

and will be well known to many of you for the numerous great evangelical scholars.

It has produced over the years.

And Scott is the author of, it's actually one of the few really scholarly books that I

still recommend as a pretty much a must purchase to candidates

for the ministry coming through Westminster Theological Seminary. And that is his book,

came out through Oxford University Press, Calvin's Company of Pastors, which is a marvelous study

of the pastoral practice and pastoral theory of Geneva, both during the time of Calvin

and indeed for some decades after Calvin's death. So welcome to the show, Scott.
