What's up everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. So today I am talking about how to keep cats out of your garden. Now if you have a cat at home you've probably had him or her deal with your house plants with a ruthless abandon.

I know that one of my cousins recently got into house plants and bought a decent amount

of them at a pretty hefty price and then his cat just came and

slaughtered a lot of the lower foliage and just it didn't kill the plants it just

didn't make them look too good so he was wondering how to get cats out of the garden. I've had other

questions about cats messing with your edible garden as well. So today we're going to talk about that.

How do we get cats out of our garden? And this could be a

cat that you own, that's your pet, or a cat that sort of just runs around the

neighborhood Farrell and just messes with people's lives. And that's what I've dealt with because I have a the neighborhood feral feral feral

and that's what I've dealt with because I have a bed in my front yard

that I planted a bunch of edible greens in this past late summer

and woke up one day to this weird sound and a feral cat was sort of just

destroying all of my hard-grown crops which really made me upset so I had to figure

out how to get cats out of my garden. So number one, cats prefer to walk on soft surfaces.

They will avoid prickly surfaces.

So they won't go into an area that is uncomfortable for them to navigate in basically.

So what you can do is you can cover your garden in twigs or sticks.

You can sort of do, you know what they do for those bird things where they'll put a little

spiky thing on the top of a lamp post you can use that sort of similar idea for the cats

you can line it with pine cones you can do chicken wire over the beds in order to dissuade cats from coming in.

General rule and use your creativity here is that cats do not want to walk on sharp or prickly surfaces.

Second thing you can do is use sense.
