Summary

So it appears that a lot of you enjoyed my little pre-season Enduro World Cup chat with Katy Winton and you wanted to hear more from Katy. So here it is. We sat down to chat about the first two Enduro World Cup races of the season. Find out what it was like riding at Maydena and Derby. How did it feel to be back racing after nearly a year away from the circuit? How does the new points system work and how does that impact the results? Who performed well and who struggled in these two opening rounds. As you’ll know if you listened to the pre-season episode, Katy isn’t just a rider but also a massive fan of the sport with a great insight into what goes on. So sit back, hit play and listen to this episode with Katy Winton.

You can watch this episode on my YouTube channel here.

You can follow Katy on Instagram @misswinton and find Dr Stacy Sims here.

Supporting Partners

Cotic

Cotic founder, Cy Turner, makes dream bikes. The RocketMAX was his dream bike for riding in his new home of the Peak District.

The RocketMAX also fitted my dream and I’ve been lucky enough to be riding one since 2020. The steel frame helps the bike breathe with the terrain. At speed, the longshot geometry comes into its own, bringing a stability that allows you to really go for it. The RocketMAX also has a fun personality that means that you don’t have to be going at warp speed to have a good time.

Cotic will let you choose one of their builds or specify your own dream build parts list. You can collect the bike at their brand new showroom in Chesterfield, where one of the team will help get you setup on the bike.

With regular owners rides and events and a company ethos that strives to operate in a low impact way, Cotic also gives back a good chunk of their time and profit to the riding community.

If that all sounds like your dream, then you can check them out over at cotic.co.uk

Hey everyone, I'm Chris Hall and this is the downtime podcast where we're going to be taking you

deeper than ever into the gravity-based side of mountain biking. Before we get stuck into this week's

episode, a quick thank you to our supporting partner Cotic Bikes. Sy Turner's dream bike didn't exist.

So it went out and made it and that's basically how Cotic began.

They design and build their dream bikes and then they make them available so you two can own

your dream bike. When Sye moved to the Peak District, his riding changed and so did his

dream bike. Soon after, the Rocket Max was born, a UK-made steel-framed enduro chassis that exudes

0:36.3

confidence, letting you know that it's got your back. I've been lucky enough to be riding a Rocket Max since 2020 as it was a dream bike for me too. The steel frame brings a level of compliance that really helps the bike breathe with the terrain, and it means that it's going to stick to rough off-cambor sections like nothing you've ever ridden before. At speed, the long-shot geometry brings the stability that just breeds confidence. Yet, the bike still retains a fun, poppy personality that means you don't have to be going at warp speed to have fun. To ensure that you really are getting your dream bike, Kotick not only have multiple complete build options, but they'll let you choose any components that you want for your dream build. Cotic now have a brand new showroom in Chesterfield in the UK, where you can see the bikes and meet the people who design and build them. You can also arrange for a factory collection where one of the team will set up the bike for you and your riding style. Add to that, regular owners rides and events and a company ethos that strives to operate in a low-impact way when it comes to the environment and gives back a good chunk of both their time and profit to the riding community.
