Hey everybody. Welcome to Boston Confidential. This is our third episode and today we're bringing you the case of Katrina Homer, a native of Sweden.

0:18.9

This case happened in 1996 and is considered Boston's premier unsolved mystery.

0:27.8

It is in fact a true who-done it. Just a little background on Katrina Homer. She was 20 years

0:35.8

old and lived in Alleyard, Sweden, a small town.

0:39.3

By all accounts, Katrina was an excellent student and had been bitten by the travel bug.

0:46.3

And she had won a $1,500 prize in some lottery in Sweden.

0:53.3

I don't know if it was a scratch-off ticket or the daily number type of thing.

0:57.7

But she used that money to pay for airfare to the United States.

1:31.5

comes over to the United States and is set up with this job in March of 1996. The deal she had

1:38.8

struck with the couple, two artists, one a photographer and one a painter, allowed her to live in Dover, take care of two children at the residence during the week.

1:53.8

But on the weekends, Katrina was given access to a loft on A Street in South Boston. It's in South Boston, but it's in the

2:04.8

fourth point section of the neighborhood, and that's relatively close to downtown, walking

2:11.7

distance by most accounts. It's probably a 15 or 20 minute walk to downtown and back bay.

2:17.8

By most accounts, Katrina's employment was going pretty well with this couple.

2:23.5

The couple's name is Frank Rap.

2:25.3

He was the photographer, and his wife, Susan, Nitcher, N-C-H-T-E-R was an accomplished painter.

2:35.0

By most accounts, Katrina got along pretty well with Frank and Susan, and she simply adored the children, so things were going pretty well.

2:45.0

At least as an outsider looking in, I believe you would have seen a happy R pair and some happy children.
