I'm your host, Cade Cortley, and today, another amazing guest.

Our next guest is a Marine Corps officer, graduate of the United States Naval Academy,

a third generation military aviator who not only has

thousands of hours of combat flight ops, but was the very first woman to be selected to join

the prestigious Blue Angels. Please welcome Major Katie Higgins Cook. Katie, welcome to the show. Hi, thank you so much for having me. You know, going through your bio and prepping for this, we have a lot of stuff that was in common. I thought was really cool. I had a grandfather in the Army Air Corps. I understand you had two. We both came from military families. Your father was also a F-18 pilot. Is that correct? That's correct, yep.

We both worked for the Department of the Navy, you as a Marine Corps officer, obviously.

I, in high school, I saw Top Gun and I said, that's it. That and a major influence from my

grandfather got my private pilot's license in high school and was on that

road. And I ended up injuring my eye on college and found out about the SEAL teams, which I

consider kind of a blessing in disguise. But tell me about the influence that had to come from

grandparents, a father, and just saying, this is my destiny, I would guess.
