Certainly you may know Katie Asleton as an actress from films such as Puffy Chair, which she also produced with her husband who directed.

She is now on the other side of the camera as both a star and a director of the new film The Freebie.

Katie, thanks for being here.

Thank you for having me.

First of all, tell the audience what The Freebie is about, because every couple has had this conversation and you made a movie out of it.

Yeah, and that's kind of exactly what it's about.

It's about a couple.

They have been married for seven years and they're actually pretty good.

They're a good couple that you like to be around.

They're happy they enjoy each other's company.

But the passion has sort of fallen through the cracks for them.

And so in an effort to rejuvenate and respark their passion, they think that it might be a good idea for them to take one night with someone else.

And at what point do you think there was a movie in this?

It all came very quickly to me.

And it came out of, and it sounds so wrong when I say it,

but it was a very innocent conversation with a good friend of mine who ended up being

the bartender, Ross Partridge, who you would recognize from Baghead, probably.

He is an old, old friend of Marks and mine.

And we were sitting and we were talking about Mark to plan your husband.

Yeah, we were talking about me and Mark and Ross and his girlfriend.
