Okay, well, good afternoon everybody, and thank you for coming out to see what I have to say.

What I'm going to be talking about today is, as you can see from the title, research lens on entrepreneurial firms.

So for those of you who have had in class, this is quite a bit of stuff that actually has nothing to do with what you've ever heard me say before.

So some new stuff.

Let me start out by giving you a bit...

I'm not quite sure where we are in the presentation here.

I think we're still getting used to it.

But let me tell you a little bit about why research,

why I wanted to talk about research.

Because what's going to happen this quarter is you're going to hear

for some really great speakers.

People like Greg Brando next week from Pixar, the week after that, Rick Wallace from

KLA 10 Corps, Jim Breyer, top VC, and so forth.

And so what is a research person have to say that those guys don't have to say?

And I think what it is and what research brings to thinking about entrepreneurial firms,

which is what I'm going to talk about today, is that rather than being a real manager, we get to pick the projects we work on. So we
