Summary

In the last podcast we ended with Katheryn Howard married and Thomas Cromwell was executed. If you missed it, I’d recommend going back and listening to that one first, it was called Katheryn Howard: Part One.

As a queen of England Katheryn is only remembered for being the fifth wife of Henry VIII, and was executed. If it hadn’t been for her scandalous downfall, and said execution, we would not have as much interest in Katheryn as we do today.

After weeks of reading and researching Catherine Howard, I have come to my own conclusion

Often we hear people call her naive or abused, but I've come to the realization that

0:43.8

Catherine was merely immature and reckless.

0:47.5

She made many mistakes in her life, ones that if she had the maturity to think through,

0:52.9

she would not have committed.

0:55.4

As Queen of England, Catherine is only remembered for being the fifth wife of Henry

the 8th and the second one who was executed.

If it hadn't been for her scandalous downfall and said execution, we would not have as much

interest in Catherine as we do today.

1:13.1

In an alternative history setting, one can imagine that Catherine was the last wife of Henry

1:18.8

the 8th, that she possibly gave birth to a prince or a princess, because let's be serious, if

1:25.6

she didn't, then her ending would be the same.

1:29.2

It's also possible that she, like Jane Seymour, could have died of childbed fever.

1:34.6

All these options are possibilities, but we know her ending.

1:38.7

And for me, she will forever be the Howard girl who was reckless and immature and who loved quickly.

1:48.2

But before we get too deep into her story, I need to send out a special thank you to my
