Cash Patel has an enemies list.

The enemies list looks a little bit like our friends list,

and so we're going to bring you a few of those friends who have been on the show before.

To start, we have Nina Jancoix.

Nina Jankewix is an author, a disinformation expert, and formerly the head of the Disinformation Governance Board for the United States

Government. She's also recently an award-winning writer for her work fighting disinformation. She's the

author of a number of books,

including How to Be a Woman Online, and she joined us to discuss that book.

I'm curious to know if there was a particular incident that made you think that you needed to

write this book. So there were a

couple of things that really queued me into the world of online abuse. Obviously, a lot of my

friends have experienced it. I've experienced it. Ahead of the 2020 election, I had been debunking

some narratives about election fraud on Twitter. And I made a video that initially didn't do very well.

And then eventually started gaining a lot of traction.

And I was like, huh, this is interesting.

I wonder why it's doing it.

It's because it actually gained traction on the far right.

And it singled me out for the worst abuse I've ever experienced over a two-week period in September 2020,

in which, you know, I was receiving hundreds of tweets an hour that were saying everything

from like, you're a CIA operative to sending me pictures of egg cartons, empty egg cartons,

saying that my fertile clock was ticking, which is particularly hilarious to me now because I'm pregnant
