documentary filmmaker Penny Lane. Penny, welcome to the podcast. So great to have you.

Hello. That was my attempt to do Katie's hello. How do they do? Oh my god. Hello. Katie's

unique. She's got she. I don't say that. I feel like when you say someone's unique, it's like

kind of a backhand accompaniment. I don't mean it that way. I like to be one of one. Like I feel like

I like to find ways in which I can be. Couldn't agree more. Yeah, totally. So like I do not relate

to people who want to be like everyone else. Yeah, exactly. I do like it's a lot of uniqueness to Katie

as the bachelor at the week. I felt like it was really on display in this episode. And we could

talk about it in a second. We are going to start by talking about Rachel Lindsay's cover story in

New York magazine. But even before that, Penny, how did you get into watching the bachelor? Your

documentary filmmaker. This is about as far away from documentary as can be while still remaining

quote unquote unscripted. So from your professional eyes, why is this an interesting show to you?

I'm interested in exactly because of what you just said. Like I feel like in the documentary world,

people are like really snobby about reality TV. It's like our like cousin that we don't like to

invite to dinner or something. But for me, I love it. I'm just like kind of constant. Like I watch it.
