Welcome to Dedicated. I'm your host Doug Brunt. Today we're with Captain Carl Anderson.

He is a globally known figure in the sport of big game fishing. He is known not only for his skills

as a boat captain, but also for his writing and photography in connection

with the sport. In 2003, Carl was awarded the Tommy Gifford Award from the International Game

Fishing Association for his contributions to recreational fishing. And I have loved his writing and

photography over the years. Carl, it's great to have you here. Great to be here, Doug. Thank you very

much. Very honored to be here. Well, and I, this is a show first. No one before has brought their own booze to the show, so we're very excited to have a little Papa's Pillar rum. And Odo Papa Hemingway, and it's a good one. Yeah, we've got the, so we're going to have a Spanish Manhattan, which is a twist on the Manhattan. Yeah, and the rum makes it Spanish.

The rum makes it Spanish. The rum comes from the islands. There's about nine different rums that are blended to make this, so it's a cool, it's a cool drink. It is, and you brought the, you brought the rye whiskey barrel finished rum. Yeah. So I'm going to dump a whole bunch of that in there. Thought that was appropriate. We brought a little ice. And this is obviously, as you know, and the audience does not, this is not our first time sharing a little pillar rum. That's right. We've, we've had some rum when I interviewed you. This is way more. We're going to be able to get the whole studio drunk with us. I think I made too much. Well, Mike could be having some of this. We've got to throw the cap off and keep driven. Just let it go. Yeah, so we were at the Beach Haven, New Jersey, the Beach Haven, Marlin and Tuna fishing tournament, Way Inn, where you do some streaming events down there.

Yep, I host a live stream there of our way in. It's the oldest white marlin tournament

in the world, really? And it's a very neat event. The whole town comes together. We have

this thing called Marlin Fest, and we have vendors come in in and we do the way in in the town square

and you know it's just a big a big festival is kind of cool and then of course the coup de grace is when

the fish come in and you were gracious enough to come and let me talk to you about the mysterious

case of Rudolph diesel the great the great book about the about Rudolph that you've written

and uh well that is fun because so many of those big boat captains are coming in on these big boats running diesel.
