An entitled Karen steals my airplane window seat, demanding that she take it instead of me, as she feels that she deserves it more since she has a kid with her. But when I tell her, no, I don't want to give up my seat, she calls me a monster and says that I have no soul for not giving up my seat. And now, as a result, I feel really guilty, and at this point, I seriously don't know what to do. Here's what happened. Okay, so I was flying home last week after visiting my sister. I booked my ticket a month in advance and I paid some extra for a window seat because I get anxious on planes and being able to look outside really helps me stay calm. Well, when I got to my road, there was a woman sitting in my seat. Her young daughter, maybe six or seven years old, was in the

middle seat next to her. I politely said, hey, I'm sorry, but I think that's my seat. She then didn't even look up at me and just said to me, oh, I was hoping you wouldn't mind switching. My seat is a few rows back in the middle, but I really want to sit with my daughter. I said to her, I'm sorry, I understand that, but I book this seat on purpose. I have anxiety and I really need the window.

She now got angry at me for some. daughter. I said to her, I'm sorry, I understand that, but I booked this seat on purpose. I have

anxiety and I really need the window. She now got angry at me for some reason and said, seriously, it's a kid. You can't sit in the middle seat for a couple of hours so a mother can stay with her child. But I said, look, I get it, but I paid extra for this seat. And I have a real reason to need it. You can ask someone else to switch. She then stood up and snapped at me.

good about making a little girl cry. And the thing is, her daughter wasn't even crying. She was just

quietly coloring. I said to her, hey, I'm not responsible for your poor planning. If it was that

important, you should have arranged seats together before the flight. A flight attendant then came over and asked what was going on, and the woman tried to make me sound like a monster. But I calmly explained that I had this seat booked and I wasn't giving it up. The attendant checked my ticket and asked the woman to move, and while she did, she was loudly muttering things like, oh, some people have no soul.

I felt awkward the whole flight, but I also knew that I wasn't in the wrong. So am I the jerk

for not giving up my seat all because this woman demanded it? What should I do? No, you're not

the jerk at all. This lady just wanted the better seats and she refused to go to her crappy seats.

And she literally tried to use her kid as some kind of like guilt-tripping tactic,

just so she would get her way. Especially when she was like, oh, good job of making a little girl cry. Meanwhile, her daughter doesn't even know what's going on. She's coloring on some paper or something like that. Like, seriously, I can't stand people like this. This Karen was completely out of line for doing that. We live in a day and age where literally you know exactly where you're supposed to sit on an airplane.

So for her to be like, oh my God, I can't believe that you would do this to my kid. It's like, seriously, lady, I can't believe that you're doing this to me. Look at the way you're acting for a second. You're coming into my section and trying to take my seat and trying to act like I'm the one with the problem? Like, dude,

what are you talking about? So yeah, this whole scenario is incredibly stupid and honestly, if I was in your shoes, I would have done the exact same thing. If you like Am I the Jerk, you're probably

nightmare by refusing to clock in until exactly on the second I was supposed to be there, resulting in me getting employee of the month, as well as this Karen's stupid policies changing forever.
