An entitled Karen hits me up in my DMs on Instagram, demanding that I send her money so that she can get an Uber, claiming that she can pay me back with groceries from her food card.

But once I told this Karen no, she absolutely lost her mind, turning this entire scenario against me in a way that I truly did not expect.

And I'm honestly so glad she blocked me because I never want to deal with a scam like this ever again. Here's what happened. Okay, so I'm an 18-year-old female and I just got the strangest Instagram direct message from some random lady asking me to send her $40 for an Uber and in exchange she would buy me groceries on her grocery card. It legitimately sounded like a scam. And if it wasn't, then what was she thinking? The exchange went as follows. This random lady said to me, can you help me get an Uber? I'll buy you groceries with my food card if you do. I just got a crazy amount of money on my food card, and I can order a pickup order for you. It's $38, but it would be like $31 with Apple Pay, and I do have it. I know I don't know you, but I saw you from a

body positive political comment, and I agree with you, and I felt the need to connect here and just see what's going on. Well, I responded by saying, I'm just going to say this really sounds like a scam. And if not, then my God, you've got some audacity asking me for money when I don't even know you. For all I know, we don't even live in the same country. Like, what is going

through your head right now? I'm not trying to be rude and I'm just trying to be realistic and straight up. Like seriously, ask your friends, not me. I am not your bestie. This lady then responds by saying, it is not a scam and you are just a jerk. Like, seriously, you just can't help anybody out can you you're the

type to not help out homeless people or charities screw you you absolute jerk like you could have

been nice but no instead you're just a massive jerk i responded by saying lady you are not a charity

you're just some greedy lady on instagram so as far as'm concerned, you can either take the bus or you can

walk. But either way, just shut up. This lady responds back by saying, actually, you don't know my life.

I live with disabilities and I live with my mom. There's also no buses at night, you idiot. So screw you.

Because it really seems like you don't care about anybody else except for you. I respond back by saying, okay, we'll call your mom then. Why are you asking a random girl on the internet? Like, what are you even thinking about? After that, she proceeded to block me, which I don't care, because I was on my way to block her as well. But I wasn't about to let her try and make me feel bad when she came in here asking me for money because

she agreed with one of my comments. I am not the bad guy here and I know that because like it's

obvious she's entitled and expects everyone to feel bad for her because she can't afford an Uber

and supposedly lives with some kind of disability and what makes her think that I can afford an Uber

for her. Like truly it's mind mind-boggling to me what people

think is okay because of the internet, especially when dealing with people who are truly trying to scam you. Oh man, this is the classic scenario of like, oh, give me some money and I'll pay you back later. It's like, no, that's not going to happen. Like, I don't even know you. Like, this lady really thought she could go into your DMs and be like, oh, please give me money. I need money so bad. I'll pay you back.

It's like, no, you won me money. I need money so bad.

I'll pay you back.

It's like, no, you won't.

I'll never see that 40 bucks again, like ever. The original poster would have been better off just lighting $40 on fire than giving it to this lady. And I just love the fact that when you said no, they're like, wow, I can't believe you. and then they list off all these things they have wrong in their life as if that's your problem.
