Just some updates as we usually do at the outset of every podcast, Boston City Councilor,

Tanya Fernandez Anderson, who was elected to the council, I believe, in 2021, and was arrested

in late 2024 for several counts, several felony federal

counts of corruption. And it's just been reported that she claims that she can't even pay

her federal public defender. I don't know what that means.

She makes $120,000 as a Boston city councilor. A lot of other city councilors, if they're

lawyers, stuff like that, they have other jobs, but I don't think Tony Fernandez Anderson does.

And she's saying now that she can't contribute to her defense, and she has not resigned,

not resigned from the Boston City Council.

And if you were expecting righteousness or nobility or the mayor of Boston to have repeated calls for her to

resign. You'd be fooling yourself. The mayor, Mayor Wu, has asked her to resign, hasn't demanded

a resignation. As far as I know, neither has the city council president. Ed Flynn, the city councilor, who people had expected
