This is the Hidden Killers podcast with Tony Brewski and continuing coverage of the case against Karen Reid.

If you were sitting in the trial of Karen Reid today, May 21st of 2025, you probably wouldn't have guessed the day would open with a mystery that had

nothing to do with Karen Rader, John O'Keefe.

Well, I mean, it had to do with the trial, but the first thing Judge Canoni did wasn't

call a witness or addressed the jury, it was to

clear the courtroom. And just like that, everyone was out. Something was up with the jury. No one knew what,

and instead of airing it publicly, Canoni brought each juror up to the sidebar, one by one, behind closed lips and furrowed brows

to get to the bottom of whatever had sparked concern.

She wasn't taking any chances.

What we do know is this.

No juror admitted to breaking any rules. Nobody confessed to discussing the case,

being approached, or peaking at headlines they weren't supposed to see. And yet, Canoni felt the need

to remind them forcefully not to talk about the case, not to each other, not to their spouses,

not to their dogs. Her tone from the account inside made it clear.

This trial is not going off the rails on her watch.

So after that quiet storm of closed door questions, court resumed,

no damage done, at least not from the jurors.

And then walked in Dr. Azik Wolf.
