| 1:03.9 | I know no one wants to hear this, but our nails get thinner and break more easily as we get older. |

| 1:15.8 | Pregnancy is another reason. At least there's an end to that versus the problem with aging, |
| 1:19.9 | but pregnancy can be a cause of brittle nails. |
| 1:24.7 | Skin diseases like eczema can trigger that. |
| 1:28.8 | Systemic disorders like iron deficiency anemia, thyroid disease, or peripheral disease can cause |
| 1:35.1 | brittle nails. And iron deficiency anemia specifically causes something called spoon nails, |
| 1:41.1 | where your whole nail indents, so it looks like a spoon. |
| 1:46.4 | Environmental exposures such as wet work, occupational exposure to chemicals, |
| 1:53.9 | and use of nail cosmetics can cause brittle nails. So using nail polish, nail polish |
| 1:59.7 | removers, nail sculpturing, application of acrylic gels, and now there's just a dip that they |
