Allen Fieldhouse was an incredible scene on Saturday afternoon for its 1,000th game between Kansas and BYU.

And we'll talk about three, four things that I think we learned coming out of the game.

So first thing, that first half Kansas team, man, they are a national championship contender.

The problem is the second half team.

But let's talk about the first half team, where they were dominant on offense, they were

crushing it on the boards, they were efficient in every phase of the

game. And Darren Peterson was unbelievable. Let's just be honest. This guy in that first half

solidified himself potentially as the number one pick in the NBA draft. That's how good he was,

especially since AJ DiBansta did not have a great half at all.

But then came the second half, which we'll get to here in a second.

But Peterson was so good at every level.

I mean, the dunks, the three-pointers, the step-back jumpers, he was fantastic.

That was number one pick material.

And you can tell when the offense is working through him.

And by the way, I don't want to sell his defense short.

He was hustling on both ends.

And it was an unbelievable 20 minutes of basketball.

It was some of the best basketball I've seen over a half by anybody in

this league over the first three months of the season. That's how good it was. That Kansas team

in the first 20 minutes can obviously get to a final four and can win a national championship.
