Summary

Before a live audience in Nashville Tuesday, Kamala Harris discussed what it takes to fight back against Trump. But she also threw punches—against the corrupt and callous administration that's trying to gaslight Americans about Jeffrey Epstein, and the tech titans who are bending the knee to a tyrant. Also noteworthy: Both MTG and Mamdani come in for some praise. Plus, the power of a consumer boycott, the challenges of being No. 2 on the job, and the still stinging emotions around her 107-day campaign.

Hello, welcome to the Bullwark podcast. I'm your host, Tim Miller. We have a different one for you today. I had the honor of being asked to interview former Vice President Kamala Harris at her book tour stop in Nashville last night, Tuesday night. And it was such a cool experience for me, I got to say, being inside the Riemann. I guess I've seen a show there.

0:21.6

My friends have seen so many shows. I've streamed so many such as historic venue. So many of my

0:27.7

favorites have played there. And it's beautiful inside. And so to be able to interview Kamala Harris

0:34.4

there was really special. Pat crowd, I mean, obviously there's just still this desire and fervor for, what would you call it?

0:44.6

You know, rationality, resistance out there.

0:48.0

I mean, the line was just wrapped around the block for this event.

0:51.6

Over 2,000 people showed up.

0:57.2

They're rowdy. And, you know, I think we had a good conversation. The book is a little bit of a different kind of book, 107 days. She goes more into

1:04.7

kind of the inner workings of the campaign than you usually get from the candidate book.

1:10.1

You know, I think that, and she says this, I think that she felt like she really wanted

1:14.2

her voice to be in the historical perspective of this, of this campaign, because a lot of

1:21.5

this stuff was out of her hands.

1:22.6

And she gets picked to be VP.

1:24.5

I ask her about this.

1:25.4

She gets, you know, sideline a little bit inside the Biden White House.

1:29.0

And then this campaign is thrust upon her. One more thing before we get into the interview.

1:33.8

One thing that's different about this show is that I just, I give you my candid thoughts about

1:37.7

everybody. And that informs the interview. And I think anybody who listened to this know that

1:42.7

candidly, to the extent that there are, is a back and forth, he said, she said, between the Biden campaign team and the Biden White House team and the vice president's team, I'm extremely sympathetic to the vice president.

1:54.8

In a world where we started from scratch, which you've ended up being the nominee, which you've been the best nominee, my favorite choice.

2:00.3

I don't know.

2:01.1

Probably not.
