Comle Harris says she's open to ending the Senate's 60 vote threshold for legislation known as the filibuster.

Will voters notice and will Democrats come to regret unleashing the Senate to majority rule?

Welcome to Potomac Watch. I'm Kate Batchelder O'Dell, filling in as your host today, and I'll ponder these questions with two of my distinguished colleagues, Bill McGurn and Alicia Finley. Both are columnist and members of the Journal's editorial board. Before we dive in with Alicia and Bill, let's take a quick listen to Vice President Harris's remarks this week on Wisconsin public radio.

I've been very clear.

I think we should eliminate the filibuster for a row

and we need and get us to the point where we're 51 votes

would be what we need to actually put back in the law the protections for

reproductive freedom and for the ability of every person and every woman to make decisions

about their own body and not have their government tell

them what to do.

Bill, I want to go to you first.

It's an interesting choice for a Democrat to weigh it into Senate procedural form so close

to the wire here of the election.
