Joe Biden's chosen successor, Kamala Harris, has reinvigorated Democrats, raised tens of millions

of dollars, and secured the endorsement of more than 3,300

delegates to the Democratic Convention, which represents the vast majority of all the pledged

delegates, making her the party's de facto nominee. According to her campaign, Harris raised

more than $100 million in the first 36 hours after she replaced Biden at the top of the ticket.

That cash infusion more than doubles the $96 million cash on hand that the Biden campaign,

the Biden Harris campaign had at the end of June, and the money has just continued to pour in.

Her run has also mobilized thousands of volunteers across the country.

They're not just signing up to help Harris campaign, but also for other Democrats in down-ballot races.

Democratic Party's biggest names have thrown their support behind her, including congressional

leaders like Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Nancy Pelosi. And most recently, she received a high-profile endorsement from Barack and Michelle Obama,

who pledged to do everything we can, they say, to make sure she wins in November.

She's even received Beyonce's approval to use her song, Freedom, throughout her campaign.

Harris's entry into the presidential race has unquestionably given Democrats the much-needed

boost of enthusiasm that had been lacking this year, but it's too early to tell if her

bid can actually move the needle for Democrats.

The overall status of the presidential contest remains close.

The latest national polling by the New York Times and Sienna College shows Donald

Trump leading Harris by one point among likely voters and two points among registered voters.

Both of those results are well within the margin of error. Like the past few elections,
