Long-suffering New York Mets fans are delirious after last night's game.

Remember, the Mets had to win that essentially a one-game playoff,

and it looked bad because they were trailing going into the ninth inning,

and their season was about to be over in that ninth inning

Pete Alonzo who'd been in a terrible slump and had done nothing in the game and this looked

like you know this was it for the season crushed a ninth inning home run to put the Mets ahead.

And it's first time in about 10 years that they've won a playoff series.

Now they play the Phillies.

Who are on paper a much better team.

But sports contests aren't won on paper.
