This is Chad Young here with Pete Ball as always.

We are going to get into the show in a moment, but before we do that, I'd want to talk about

something that's pretty important to me right now. If you, if you're in the Auto New Slack,

you've probably seen the announcement post I made about this. If you follow me on Blue Sky,

you've seen the post I made there. One of my closest friends, a guy, actually a mutual friend of mine and Niv Shah who created

Ato Nu, someone he and I went to high school with.

This guy was the best man in my wedding.

His niece, his eight-year-old niece was diagnosed with something called severe aplastic

anemia.

I'm not a doctor by any means, but my understanding is basically her

bone marrow has sort of inexplicably stopped making blood cells. No red blood cells,

no white blood cells, no platelets. So she's, you know, if she gets an infection, she can't

fight it off. If she has a bleed, she can't stop it.

And her blood is delivering less and less oxygen, I guess, to her body.

There is, like, there is a cure for this, which is good, but the cure is a bone marrow transplant.

And she needs basically a good to perfect match to do that.

And she, it's really hard to find.

It's always hard to find a match, but to make things more challenging,

Kaya, that's her name Kaya.

Kaya is of Indian and Korean descent, which makes it more difficult to find a match.

It also means that people of that, you know, if you are of Indian or Korean descent, you are more likely to be a match.
